Uphill Both Ways

Now that my relationship with Amazon has ended, I am very happy to once again make the entire compliment of Uphill Both Ways available on this blog.  I have organized the book on a new page Uphill Both Ways to make access and reading easier and more consistent.  My About page serves as the Forward and Introduction.

Since the launch of the book in July of 2013, I have written many related stories.  Over time, I will be incorporating these newer stories into the book page to provide a clearer storyline and an overall better read and I will also fix the many links to make it easier to proceed onto the next chapter.

While the entire experience of writing and publishing a book has been most informative and enjoyable, there have been drawbacks [see So You Want To Publish].  Regaining the freedom of a pure blog writer will be a welcome return I have long sought.  Perhaps, once I have assembled the old work into readable form, I will once again begin to enjoy writing new work again.

To the thousands of my loyal readers and followers, I extend my sincere thanks and appreciation for all your comments and well wishes.  For my new readers I offer over 100 stories for your enjoyment with more [hopefully] to come as the inspiration flows over me.  I hope to continue to improve this site and the content you enjoy.

  4. I’d love to know more about what led you to depart from amazon.com. Maybe there’s something in it for me to learn now that I’m about to publish with Create Space.

p.s., I did enjoy your amazon product — reviewed it even. And I do look forward to more of your stories.

(By the way, where in Boston? .. if you’re willing.)

  7. Had you chosen KDP Select when you had to remove all your other materials, or just plain KDP?

KDP Select I think. But the requirement was buried in the mountain of small print which I didn’t discover until later. I wasn’t happy about it, but I understood it. I’m just happy to be free of it all now.

      • Yes, it’s a tiny button you are encouraged to click and if you miss noticing, you’re toast. But if you go with just the regular KDP choices, you can sell to whomever you want and you are in control of your books and all writings from it. Why not try again but this time don’t click the Select button? A lot of people have Kindles.

Once I’ve incorporated all the ‘new’ stories and can appreciate the updated book, I just might give it another try. But never with the restrictions I had before.
