The Memories of Parenting

This is why I wrote everything down knowing that someday I would lose that ability.  I wanted to remember those wonderful moments, those seemingly inconsequential moments of parenting that fill your heart with joy and love forever.  As I age and those memories begin to fade, I know that I can be reminded of them through pictures and writings.  I have been blessed beyond measure.

You have no idea how much that video impacts me. I am the mother of 3 year old twins, who by nature ask a lot of questions, but I am also the mother of a son with autism. He repeats questions as a way to find security in the world. I try to remind myself to answer with love even when I want to scream! Thank you for this beautiful video and your blog. I often need to be reminded of the proverbial forest through the trees.

  3. We only realize much later that those were indeed precious years…we were just too overwhelmed by the mountain of tasks to be done to stop a second & absorb its blessing!

  4. You are blessed. I had to change the names of my 2 to Suspect #1 and Suspect #2. I’ll allow you to speculate what that means. I got custody of them at 11 and 13 and wonder if it would have been better if I could have been there from the beginning and pulled them from the hell hole with their mother.

Wondering is fine, but in the end it doesn’t matter. What you do next and what memories you savor is what matters. Thanks for stopping by today Carl. I appreciate it.
